Frequently Asked Questions:
When do you accept consignments?
Consignments are accepted Monday - Thursday 10 am - 4 pm. Consignors can bring up to 15 items one time per week. Select your very best as we only look at this number of items. Please see What's Happening? for specific seasonal dates and for short transitions between seasons when we do not accept consignments.
How do I bring my items in for consignment?
Clothing should be pressed and neatly folded in a container/bag bearing consignor's name. Please see Consigning for more details.
How do I consign furniture or other large items?
Prior approval is necessary. We ask that you provide a photo and dimensions.
Can I drop off my items and leave or do I have to wait?
We ask that you stay in the store while we are going through your items. We try very hard to ensure your wait time is kept to a minimum, but during our busy consignment times you can expect a wait and need to plan your time accordingly.
What items are unacceptable for consignment?
We do not accept clothing over 2 years old, men's business wear, undergarments or swimsuits, gold jewelry, VHS movies, kitchenware, exercise/sports equipment, or appliances. Please refer to Consigning for more details.
How long are my items available at Serendipity and what happens if they do not sell?
All consigned items are held at Serendipity for 90 days. Any unsold items may be picked up prior to your expiration date. Items left after 90 days become the property of Serendipity and may be donated to local charities.
When do I get paid for my items?
When an item sells, you may collect money by cash, check, or store credit during business hours.
